We chose to collaborate with Lobyco as we are a hypermarket and grocery retailer organisation, and one of Lobyco’s expertises in developing very strong loyalty programs across different continents. We want to enhance the customer experiences and to drive our growth even further.

Union Coop were looking to get going with their own loyalty programme. They were looking to enhance the customer experience and using it to drive their growth themselves. It’s the first time Union Coop digitalises their loyalty programme, and with two main businesses in grocery retail and in shopping malls, they hope to make their business more relevant to for the future.

The Solution

In April 2025, Union Coop, in partnership with Lobyco, officially launched a revamped loyalty programme across all branches in the UAE. This marked a significant upgrade to their existing Tamayaz programme, introducing a more engaging, reward-driven experience tailored to today’s digital-first shopper. By going live with the upgraded app on April 24, Union Coop experienced a strong initial response from its Tamayaz member base, validating the demand for smarter, real-time loyalty experiences.

The newly enhanced Tamayaz programme builds on Lobyco’s proven loyalty framework, combining features like real-time promotions, app-exclusive coupons, gamified campaigns, and personalised challenges. Through seamless integration with Lobyco’s back-end loyalty and engagement tools, Union Coop now delivers a transparent, dynamic, and rewarding customer journey—one that increases in-store visits and basket size, while giving Union Coop better insight into shopper behavior.

Union Coop has started the rollout of Lobyco’s loyalty suite with a phased delivery approach, focusing first on core engagement features. The full solution includes:

  • Promotion Platform: At the core of the loyalty experience, Union Coop now manages scalable campaigns under a single unified system.
  • Games & Rewards: Gamification has been activated to engage customers through in-app mini-games and store-based rewards. These interactive formats are boosting frequency and make the loyalty journey more enjoyable.
  • Coupons are now live, making it possible for members to claim and redeem individual discounts directly from their phones—driving both convenience and frequency.
  • Segmentation & Personal Offers: Based on individual shopping behaviour, Union Coop is set to unlock targeted segmented promotions to better resonate with each shopper profile.
  • Challenges & Stamps: To maintain long-term engagement, Union Coop also included in client proposition challenges and stamp cards that reward sustained interaction and larger basket missions.
  • App Feed & Push Services: With customised banners and segmented communications, Union Coop’s marketing team can now engage users more directly in-app, offering real-time updates, deals, and campaign invitations.

By adopting Lobyco’s full loyalty ecosystem, Union Coop is positioned to deepen customer relationships, increase transaction frequency, and offer a future-ready loyalty ominichannel experience that adapts to both business goals and shopper needs.
